Trailer Released for the Anime Film All You Need Is Kill

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, GKIDS and Warner Bros. Japan have released the first trailer for the anime film All You Need Is Kill, directed by Kenichiro Akimoto, featuring an English dub. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which previously inspired Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

Set in the near future, the anime follows a young woman named Rita who volunteers to help rebuild Japan after an alien known as Darol launches an attack. When Darol suddenly triggers a deadly event and unleashes monstrous creatures, Rita is left amid the devastation—and killed—only to wake up again and again. Eventually, she encounters a young man named Keiji, who, like her, is trapped in the same time loop.

The film is set for release shortly after the Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 took global box offices by storm, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year with $1.9 billion. Other similar successes this year include Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, which grossed over $715 million, and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which earned more than $154 million.

All You Need Is Kill is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026.
